The potential NAMA City wide mitigation programme of Greater Amman Municipality aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in a variety of sectors, including urban transportation. The process was initiated by the World Bank.

The NAMA plans to reduce CO2 emissions by introducing investment subsidies in some sectors and by a valorisation of CO2 emissions on the carbon market. Indirect reduction potentials of the NAMA were identified in capacity building of municipal staff and the assistance of the MRV process.
