The NAMA seeks to promote a program that gives an incentive for efficiency in the consumption of fossil fuels through the substitution of 500,000 vehicles with an age of 15 years or older with new vehicles in order to renew the national fleet.

The NAMA is under development by the Mexican NAMA facility. It requires funding for the preparation of a full NAMA document, an MRV concept and a pilot project.
